He is clearly embarrassed about it. He says, "well, the real estate agent said it was nothing and not to worry about it". The real estate agent, a principal actor in King Thompson Real Estate, was our next door neighbor: George Frost. I'll also be going through my files as well - I have the entire family archives, so I might uncover something as well. You can email me at sarahambrose1@gmail.com if you want to go off this site.
SarahSarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11501095578468190400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-34843685028046171812020-07-04T01:29:48.512-04:002020-07-04T01:29:48.512-04:00Thank you, again, for your work on writing this up...Thank you, again, for your work on writing this up! Mom passed away a few years ago. I have a couple of domestic terrorist recollections from when the lawsuit was going on. I'll try and find one of the hate letters we got. If we still have it, it is somewhere in dad's house packed away in a box who-knows-where.

Regards, David (William) AndersonDWAndersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12934952408381558473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-52800397882976669982020-06-05T20:14:09.295-04:002020-06-05T20:14:09.295-04:00Sarah,

I was the oldest of 3 kids. I remember 2 terrorist incidents. The first was someone shot a bullet through Roger and Ann Blackwell's front picture window. They had a young son, Christian, for whom I know they feared for his life. The other incident was when someone covered our front lawn with some white chemical and tore up lawn with a vehicle from off the street. After that, we had police protection with cops patrolling our street day and night. I don't know how long that went on. I remember--and I will try to find it--my mother showing me a letter from some unknown person that talked about us, surely, not wanting blacks coming to the neighborhood who would urinate on the side of our house and bring their junker vehicles into the neighborhood.

Regards, David (William) AndersonDWAndersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12934952408381558473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-24487503962661084812017-10-28T08:24:12.196-04:002017-10-28T08:24:12.196-04:00Hi Olivia,

A book you may be interested in (and what led me to this great slice of history) is Richard Rothstein's book The Color of Law: The Forgotten History of How our Gov't Segregated America (May 2017). UA's "lack of diversity" - (as sell as towns/cities across the nation) is - as you know - a euphemism for industry and gov't racist policy, specifically targeted at African-Americans. Thank you for doing this important work!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00579296398230644751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-61197168528323136932017-10-18T15:25:25.257-04:002017-10-18T15:25:25.257-04:00Hi Olivia, sure I’d be happy to help in any way I ...Hi Olivia, sure I’d be happy to help in any way I can. I found your old blog- discussing the lawsuit your parents and others pursued against the homeowners association, and I was wondering if I could talk to you about UA's history of a lack of diversity. Our project in particular is hoping to start a program in UA to discuss these things with students in order to address the issue of discrimination in UA. I'd love to talk through email- but since I am a minor I'd prefer not to leave my email address or full name on a public comment. Anything you'd be able to tell me is great.

Thanks,
Olivia

Olivianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-44360235603796514382016-01-09T20:23:33.125-05:002016-01-09T20:23:33.125-05:00dkelly3632@aol.comdkelly3632@aol.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00406875968247590197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7730606788312602839.post-42255103149031148512015-12-30T17:57:39.756-05:002015-12-30T17:57:39.756-05:00Sarah, I am an historical researcher and I came ac...Sarah, I am an historical researcher and I came across your blog on a Case for Race. this directly ties into the book I am writing.
